Reiki is a circulating energy in and out of our bodies. When this energy circulates properly, it helps us maintain health and aids in recovery from illness and injuries. If energy becomes blocked in a particular area, it can cause feelings of heaviness or tiredness. Reiki healing works by releasing these energy blockages, allowing proper circulation to be restored.
Some people may have had these energy blockages for a long time, which can contribute to chronic conditions or illnesses. In such cases, it may take some time to restore a healthy energy flow. However, some individuals—especially those with a younger or healthier body might feel significantly better after just one Reiki session. For lasting results, I often recommend multiple sessions to prevent blockages from returning. For chronic conditions, I suggest weekly sessions until the condition improves. Some clients choose to continue weekly treatments for relaxation, or return to Reiki sessions when they experience strong anxiety that they find difficult to manage on their own.
Reiki is a safe complementary healing practice with no known contraindications. Most people feel deep relaxation and a sense of well-being after a session. On rare occasions, some may feel like their condition has worsened, but this is a natural response from the body as it begins to heal. These sensations usually pass within a short time, and afterward, you’ll likely feel even better than before. Though it may seem concerning at first, this response is actually a positive sign that shows your body is on the path to recovery. It’s the healing process, so there’s no need to worry.
Initially, the NHS used Reiki for terminal cancer patients, and more recently, they have expanded its use to other conditions including the one with no known cure. This is because they have observed positive effects of Reiki statistically. Nowadays, Western medicine tends to rely more on statistics rather than scientific proof, which consumes a massive budget for expanding research. Reiki may not yet be fully proven theoretically, but many small studies are being conducted around the world. At the same time, it has started to show statistical support as a complementary treatment. One of these studies is listed below, feel free to take a look if you're interested.
In the US, some scientific experiments have been conducted on Reiki, and one of the results showed that it involves electromagnetic energy. If you are interested in reading more, please click here. (https://www.equilibrium-e3.com/images/PDF/Science%20Behind%20Reiki.pdf )
